Monroe Hammond is a journalist and editor specializing in health and science reporting. She received her master’s degree from the Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.

Currently a resident of Brooklyn, she grew up moving around coastal Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina, and spent her 20s in Atlanta after attending Emory University. 

Monroe has reported and edited stories on a range of topics, including trans healthcare, racial disparities in HIV treatment, and COVID-19. She has also edited pieces on the latest developments from NASA, the health repercussions of climate change, and the cutting edge of quantum physics.

She currently works as the news editor at Everyday Health
